Ludoo
pictures, travels and architecture

I shot these pictures (and many more) during a trip to Rome about ten years ago, when I was still studying Architecture. The pictures show various monuments in the Fori Imperiali.

Black & white was not my usual choice of film, but seeing these pictures now I find it a good choice for archaeological remains, as some of these pictures remind me of 18th century engravings.

I don't remember what camera I was using at the time, but I think I still had my 1st reflex, a Fujica ST605n, with its stock 55mm, a crappy no name 135mm, and uhm maybe a wide lens too. I loved my Fujica, and in fact a few years after leaving it to a girlfriend, I bought a second- hand ST705 which I still have. In the meantime, I stopped taking pictures (and doing most other things too) so I never used it.

A couple of years ago I rescued one of my father's cameras, a Nikon FG, from a closet on the occasion of a trip to Nepal, and bought a second- hand zoom (a 28-70 or 28-80 can't remember). I never liked the FG, I hate the LEDs in the display, it's heavy, batteries last only a few weeks. The camera is not functional anymore, the lid doesn't want to stay closed.

So, now that I'm interested in photography again, I'm scouting ebay for old Fujica material. I'm pretty surprised at the prices they fetch, but reading around a bit I'm not the only one to love old m42 Fujicas, and their lenses have a solid reputation.
