Editorial Note

by E. Garzilli

In this issue we are going to publish two papers. The first is Traditions in Transition: Meditative Concepts in the Development of Tantric Sādhana by Dr. Stuart Ray Sarbacker. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Theology at Loyola University in Chicago, USA.

The second paper is The Conservative Character of Tantra: Secrecy, Sacrifice and This-Worldly Power in Bengali Śākta Tantra by Dr. Hugh B. Urban. It includes a few pictures taken by the author himself. Urban is Assistant Professor at the Department of Comparative Studies Ohio State University, USA.

This issue also includes one review and a the list of books received. On this account, please do not send anymore books on Tantrism, which do not deal with the study of this religion/philosophy, but are manuals of practice or accounts of self-experience. They will be simply put in a box and, most probably, forgotten forever.

Happy reading!
