Giuseppe Tucci: Life, Travels, Adventures

From time to time I will introduce blogs, which are relevant to our studies and our interests. One of this is Giuseppe Tucci (1894-1984), a blog (in English) on the great Italian scholar of Sanskrit and Tibetan, explorer of Tibet and Nepal, archaeologist. It includes original documents.

Besides the huge work he has left, the life of Tucci is important for those who study history of Indology and Buddhology. Tucci was not only a scholar: he helped Mussolini to build the relationships with India, Nepal, and Japan and was one of the main actors of the cultural politics of fascism in these countries.
