13 jul 2012

The Association for Nepal and Himalayan Studies, Britain-Nepal Academic Council and Social Science Baha are proud to host the inaugural edition of the Annual Kathmandu Conference on Nepal and the Himalaya, and would like to invite the participation of those interested in taking part in the proceedings of 21 July, 2012.

The eight parallel panels scheduled for the day will see presentations on various social science disciplines and topics. There are two distinct themes running through the papers. One strand looks at the continuity and change undergone by Nepali society with concomitant claims for and transformation of identity. The other looks at the conservation of nature/biodiversity as sources of livelihood and for its life-saving potential. The underlying theme of research and policy as complementary tools for achieving stability and sustainability runs through the papers.

More details can be found at Social Science Baha - mixed panels.
